The percentage of cashless payment usage is still 18.4% in Japan, and Japanese government has announced that they will make efforts to raise the rate to 40% by 2027.

Ebisuya, a jinrikisya (ricksha) operation company in Japan, will introduce a cashless payment system in March, 2019. (The new system will be only available in Arashiyama and Higashiyama, Kyoto and Asakusa, Tokyo for the time being.)

They say that the new payment system will definitely bring a lot of convenience in the use of their service. They’ve already got excellent reviews from their customers on TripAdvisor now and the new system introduction will attract more people to their service and make them more satisfied with their service.

The jinrikisha operator has a QR code for cashless payment.
